Oh gosh, I start out with a single (x)html file, add the title and the style sheet link, page down to the end of the title page, split following the last character (usually the s in Books), and do the same for each subsequent section or chapter. I am checking the formatting as I go, so paging through I some I would do anyhow, only more slowing because I'd have to open each section or chapter in turn.

Sorry if I misled you! It's no extra work for me; it might seem so to someone else.

Ah, ok, no worries. I thought there was some function I was totally oblivious to. I do think Calibre has a function to split on headings when it converts, but I haven't used it.

Yes, and also in the editor, using an XPath expression.

I just put a clip of the sigil split marker onto my clip bar.

That also inserts into the Replace when making REGEX code to split monster files. (I also do this with other snippets that I use to build a replace)
