My PRS-505 won't switch on.. - Page 2

It all depends on how you are charging it.....

All,

I just had the same problem -- got the low battery, plugged it in to USB on computer with the intent to charge enough to read before bed. Stopped the device, the screen froze with the thinking symbol. Eventually, I got it to shut off, then it wouldn't turn back on to continue the full charge! I hooked it up to the computer USB once again, but no red light. Hit the reset button, and BINGO -- red light immediately appeared. Guess I'll leave it plugged in over night to get a full charge!

I do have to say, I've been pleased with the PRS-300 until tonight! I can usually read 3 full 250-300 page books before it needs to be recharged. Hm, guess I'll have to pay more attention to the battery symbols!

I have just registered to say many thanks for the help. I have just obtained a 505 for my mother & myself & one of them had no red light - I found this thread & the reset whilst connected by usb to a PC has got it working.

Once again thanks for the help & I look forward to joining the ereader community. Now to check out the dictionary suggestions.
