I had a bit of an issue syncing audible books with my iPhone. The solution was to de-authorize the computer with audible, then re-authorize.
As I mentioned earlier, rather than the syncing by playlist which was part of iTunes sync, you have to select each audio book individually. I have a couple of collections - "car upnext" and "car unread" that I maintain. They were playlist in iTunes, now they are collections in books. The "car upnext" has a select of 5 or 6 books that I am either currently listening to or want to listen to next. 5 or 6 is the number of audiobooks that fit on the screen at one time on my car's entertainment screen via CarPlay. "car unread" is simply a collection of audio books I haven't listened to yet. It's much bigger. Since I can't sync by collection, that means I have to scroll through the alphabetic list of all my audio books to make sure I have the audiobooks from the two collections selected. That's a pain when you have 700+ audiobooks. Last edited by pwalker8; 10-08-2019 at 07:48 AM. |

I'm already getting the notices to upgrade to Catalina on my MacBook Pro. Anyway to turn that off? I don't won't to have to manually keep telling it to remind me tomorrow.
I went through the 9to5Mac video yesterday that covers the important aspects of Catalina, and to be totally honest, I saw nothing that makes me want to upgrade. So I don't want to have to constantly tell the upgrade notice to buzz off. I haven't ruled out upgrading in the future, but I have to answer at least two questions before I even contemplate whether the upgrade is worth doing:

Not 100% sure about storage, but seams good too. For now my main annoyance is the "do you want to allow app X to access to that ? " Last edited by EowynCarter; 10-08-2019 at 02:17 PM. |

Me too. In the Apple forum I frequent, theres one guy already having issues. I think I'll be waiting for an update or three before I subject my Mini to it. My MacBook isn't eligible, being a 2010 model, and I don't mind.

I'm also holding off updating to Catalina - for the reasons already mentioned here, and because I use CrossOver to run some Windows games/software on my MacBook Pro - and CrossOver isn't compatible with Catalina just yet (the CrossOver folks send out update emails to tell users of their progress). I see a couple of Catalina features that might be fun to play with, but nothing that says, "Upgrade NOW!!!"

Same here, I’m just not seeing any must have features in Catalina. The only one that gets my attention is the ability of developers to port their iPad apps to it, but MacRumors says they are having über issues with that at the moment, and even once they get it working correctly it will take a while before we see many apps.
I’m having all kinds of iPadOS 13.1 issues, mostly minor, but annoying. I’m having a lot of keyboard issues in some apps like Numbers and Safari wherein the keyboard stops working. I’m also having issues with copy/paste/cut. iOS 13.1 seems pretty good though, just iPadOS giving me fits at the moment. Since they obviously screwed up stuff in iPadOS I’m assuming Catalina will be a mess for a while too. So I’m definitely waiting at least a few weeks before upgrading, if I ever upgrade. |

So far, the only gotcha that I've run across is that the Music app becomes non responsive trying to download all the cover art for the music. Probably not an issue if you don't have a lot of music.

If you have an older Mac that will not run Catalina, here is a program to allow you run install Catalina on an older Mac.
