Weird. On the same IP here the Windows version works fine. The command line from my linux box however fails to login and repeatedly generates a mobi with no articles.

Manually copying the recipe locally seems to fix. Is there some alternate mechanism in which the command line version wouldn't update normally the recipes? I had just pulled a new update this week.

If youa re using ebook-convert remember to use the recipe title not the recipe file to have it download and use the latest version.

yeah it was odd - I use the server version in most cases for other news sources. in this case however it generated a different result.
recipe="/home/me/calibre-commandline/wsj.recipe" #recipe="The Wall Street Journal.recipe" |

If I just run conversion from a Windows batch file like this:
ebook-convert "The Wall Street Journal.recipe" wsj%date%.epub --username foo --password bar am I using the title or the file? I'm getting epub files, but every article is truncated as if I wasn't logged in. Things were okay through 8/31 and this problem started for me on 9/3. Do I need to anything else to make sure I'm using the fixed login code? Thanks! |

That is the title, but the problem is that there are two wsj recipes with the same title, so you will get one of them depending on luck.

It looks like until 8/31 it picked up the right one (the subscriber one), but since 9/3 it's picking up the wrong one (for me) - the free one:
InputFormatPlugin: Recipe Input running Trying to get latest version of recipe: wsj_free Using downloaded builtin recipe 1% Fetching feeds... Is there a way to force it to pick up the subscriber one? |

Download the recipe file and use it. The free one i supposed to have (free) after the title, but looks like it got nuked at some point. I will put it back for the next release.

The problem is still there in 3.48 - but here is some additional information, I hope helpful:
--Paid WSJ recipe appears to work properly when accessed through the Fetch News dialog --Trying to access the paid WSJ recipe via the command line does not work - free WSJ recipe is picked up instead. It worked properly through the 8/30 edition and began failing on the 8/31 edition. For now I'm using a local copy of the paid WSJ recipe as you suggested and that (of course) works fine. |
