I was very tempted by the new Oasis - its new! I don't NEEEED it, (but its new!). Last year I resisted purchasing the gold Oasis. So, I figured this could be a 2-fer: warm light and gold shell.
However, it appears that Oasis 3 Champagne-Gold only comes with WiFi, not LTE.

No new Oasis for me. Thank you Amazon for helping me not impulse buy.

Very disappointed. From the thread title, I was hoping for a reader with a built in heater to keep your hands warm.

Next version, they could add a cool feature.

Lol ! I would get the hand warming Oasis 4 too.

That's marketing for you, coming up with cute names for colored lights. I wonder how many will buy one and then complain in reviews that it didn't warm up their hands at all ?

To be fair, I think "warmth setting" originated with the OP. Amazon calls it "adjustable warm light" in its product description.

Yes, the OP named the thread. It's in the ballpark of warm light. I had a phone cover that had " Feel the Nature " written on it. I hadn't noticed when I ordered it. Translation : It was natural leather as opposed to synthetic. It took some getting used to but it was a nice cover.

I'm just very disappointed that they stuck with the metal body and did nothing to substantially improve battery life. I got the last model new and it had worse battery life than my now substantially deteriorated Voyage battery.
I look at that one and wish that they would release an update with all the Voyage's features with a speedier chip plus larger screen and warm light (and new Origami covers).

It's all a matter of trade-offs. The Oasis II/III has a bigger screen, faster processor, and a lot more LEDs. All of those things add to power consumption. The Oasis' bigger size and metal case also add weight. Thus, Amazon had to choose whether to make the Oasis II/III even heavier with a bigger battery, or keep it light with a smaller one. Whichever way they went, someone would have been disappointed. I suppose they could have done what they did with the Oasis I and added a battery case, perhaps making it available as a paid add-on so that customers could choose what they wanted...

The availability of cheap power packs makes such an option rather redundant. If you’re going to be away from mains power for longer than the 20+ hours of reading time the Oasis gives you, you can buy a power pack you can carry in your pocket that will recharge the Oasis half a dozen times. If you’re not away from mains power, the Oasis recharges extremely rapidly. Leave it charging while you have a shower and you’ve got many hours reading time.

Therein lies the problem. The Oasis has too many features. The fact that it is waterproof means that I can take it into the shower with me to read, but I can't do that when it's plugged in. Now they need to add in a waterproof charger and waterproof battery pack ;-)

Ha, reading in the shower. I would look silly I think standing there with my glasses on while water rushes down my vision.

Its like Harry said. It charges really really fast. I can go and wash and some clothes at it would have gained 20% of charging. Just in that short time it takes me to grab the clothes, sort them, put in detergent, set the thing, etc. Or watering my plants outside. That is enough time to fully charge. I read a lot but there is plenty of other things one has to do to live. It tops off so fast. I finally have a phone that tops off fast too.

Still waiting for the self charging kindle with built in solar panels. Somewhere in the body. So it always tops itself off.
