It sounds like you want a geometric font. The only one I have installed on my Kindle is Futura. But knowing that you want a geometric font should help you narrow down your search.

Not. Counter arguement after googling geometric fonts is here: https://medium.muz.li/top-5-geometri...i-6c67bef7e67a

Only the first out of five has the correct shape for 'a' as in Futura. So geometric fonts is not the deciding factor.

Thank you for all the great advice. I love Universalis, which is now on my kindle. Sirtel managed to sort out a working version of Futura Condensed for me. So I now have a choice of two simple, narrow fonts. The Futura Condensed works perfectly now, and shows italics etc where italics should be. Universalis is slightly rounder.
