Note that on macOS you can get Kindle from App Store, and turn App Store ‘Automatic Updates’ off if you like.

No issues with KU, apart from the usual (cannot tell which books are KU and which aren’t, no way to return them directly in app).

I don't know why they have that weird page where they sell the app for $0.01. It's really strange.
