Unfortunately, yes. That is why I recommended you read post #2 in the kobopatch users & non-Kobo-supported languages thread I linked you to. The only way to reduce the pain is to avoid Power-off and/or reboot in favour of using Sleep when possible.

I don't think this is possible because Kobo have encrypted (or maybe obfuscated) their built-in system fonts. No-one (so far) has been able to find a way around this. But never say never! The best you can do currently is to sideload your own fonts (to the /fonts directory) renamed to Georgia and/or 'Avenir Next', as outlined in the kobopatch users & non-Kobo-supported languages thread. On the plus side this method does survive firmware upgrades so you only have to do it once.

And you might find that constant rebooting uses more battery then sleep mode especially since you have to load en eBook after every reboot.
