I did a search for "Korean folk tales" on inkmesh and several things came up. Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

In Korea, there are several Adobe-DRM-supported ebook stores.

The lists are,

www.booktopia.com
www.mobibook.co.kr
www.nuutbook.com
www.book2.co.kr
www.piuri.com

As a Nuut3 user myself, I'm quite sure those links work.
However, you need to be fluent in reading Korean as the sites require registration.
If you have any ereader that supports adobe drmed books, you can have access to korean books from the sites mentioned above. Even my Sony Prs 650 can read books purchased from the sites.

Actually, from my location I can see a Kindle edition of "The Memorirs of Lady Hyegyong"-- so it does exist but may be regionally restricted:

Red face downloading from kyobo

An additional problem with buying Korean ebooks from outside of Korea is that Korean websites run ActiveX scripts that may not be compatible with most browsers.

I just tried to get a Korean ebook from Kyobo online. I want to buy something for my mom, who is more comfortable reading in Korean. My Korean is probably at the 2nd grade reading level. It is hard for me to navigate the site as my vocabulary is so limited. With some help from the Korean to English built-in translator in the web browser, I have managed to create an online account. However, when I tried to download one of the free ebooks, I keep getting errors.

The message appears to be about ActiveX controls, and so I switched to Internet Explorer (version 9) from Google Chrome. I also made security changes in Internet Explorer so that the scripts would either be enabled or I would be prompted to accept or reject them. I am not sure why the Kyobo site says there are problems.

Does anyone have advice on how to download from Korean websites?
