Forcing Canada to life+70 copyrights is not a Republican thing nor a Democrat thing, it's a content provider lobby thing, and both the Republicans and Democrats are on that gravy train. The Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement made by the Obama administration, and torpedoed by Trump would have forced Canada to switch to life+70 copyrights also. Yes, I was being snarky because Trump brought it back, but it really isn't a partisan politics issue.
