As well as my Sony PRS500, I brought my Asus EEE 4G. It is just about feasible as a PDF reader, if you have fairly keen eyes. But people generally agreed that the keyboard was rather small for everyday use (I use it mostly out of the house, when travelling).

And French people are more familiar with an azerty keyboard, so the qwerty one is an added obstacle to accurate typing, as Zelda demonstrated.

...by typing absolute gibberish.

it was great to finally get to see one in person though, and see how it felt to use it ! i think it's a tiny bit too small for me but nonetheless i'd be tempted by something not too much bigger... provided of course it had an azerty keyboard. sorry i forgot it on the original list !!

I don't know if you mean my Palm by this, but I'm going to consider that you're not, as it's not that old.

It's a Tungsten T5, with a nice large (for a PDA anyway) LCD screen.
The battery life is still ok for PDA usage, after 5 years of use.
I started reading ebooks on it 7 months ago, when I ended up having 1 hour train commute everyday. It was fine, but after 3 months of daily ebook reading, I felt that the battery life had decreased and now required charing every 2 days, so I decided to buy a Cybook.

I stil use the T5 as a PDA, and to type some stuff while I'm away from a real computer, as I have an infrared folding keyboard.

and might i add the infrared folding keyboard is AWESOME ! it's James Bond's keyboard. you can't see this in the amazon photo but it folds into a little package about the same size as the palm, and then unfolds into a nearly full-size keyboard (it has only 4 rows of keys which allows it to be very compact without making tiny keys, and uses 2 sets of "function" keys to type the extra characters).

(*your* palm "very old" ? no, of course not ! i was talking about that, um, other palm, about which i know nothing either, obviously... )
