There's a much faster version, the OpticBook 4600 (3,2sec per page), but it's also MUCH more expensive (699$).

I have one of these, and when I scan books for Distributed Proofreaders, I use the included Book Pilot software, which automatically flips the image 180 degrees. I find I can do about 150-200 pages an hour with it.
While I'm quite happy with the scanner, I will note that after about 2 years, I had problems with my scanner. I had to send it back twice to the manufacturer to get it resolved, and I had to call them several times to find out what the status was. |
