Its Funny that the price for the Basic model is £180, the same as WH Smith's Price, but Smith does include the Cover & I believe Shipping as well.

Still a difference of £30-35 is not as bad at the £125 (270+25+10) difference previously.

Actually makes it competitive with the Bebook Price which is currently £225.

Strangest thing. Special price for Norwegians it seems! To Norway it is € 250 / € 350 but to France it is €280/380.

Since Norway isn't in the EU this is the price without VAT.

Correct: E.U. you get to pay the VAT you have in your country when they send the goods.

Outside it: you do not pay VAT as it's supposed that you declare it to your own taxes organization and they charge hten the VAT, just like buying in an Airport shop.

I have to say that even though I totally love my Cybook and I have used it intensely during that past month - it hurts to see it drop by 100€ only one month after I bought it

Thats the way of electronic thingys.

I bought a Samsung 40" LCD TV for the equivalent of around 2000 euros, a couple of months later that exact TV was available for 1100 euros. It happens, prices on electronig devices drops at an alarming rate after the initial "introduction" price.

Why is it that Bookeen feels that a price of $389.95 (that's with the cover) is a good price? We also then have to add in shipping. This just is silly.

The VAT is 25% in Norway, so when this is added the price to pay for Norwegians is €312,5 for the basic model. If the difference between the Norwegian price and the EU price is the VAT this means that the VAT in France is only 12% (calculated using the basic model, 9% calculated based on the delux model).

For your information, in France VAT is 19.6% (normal, for any like Cybook) or 5.5% (reduce, for food and... books !)

Regards

In Portugal VAT is 20% generic, 12% food and 5% books.

Now if you are buying as a company or a individual professional you can get back the VAT, and so the Cybook becomes 233,33 euros.
