I really don't understand anymore, because at home I still have the problem on my main computer and my personal laptop (I retry again after I return home yesterday).

Tonight, I try this time to connect on the usb ports on the back. Nope.
And I try the safe mode too. No success
Are the USB ports USB2 or USB3? There have been problems reported with USB3 ports. Setting them to USB2 has usually fixed them. Another thing to try would be a USB hub. Again, people have reported that these have solved some connectivity problems.

Sorry for the late response. I had a busy weekend.

Yes, I have already tested all my port ubs port on my computer and on my laptop. I have USB2 and USB3 and the problem happens on all.

The Kobo customer service supervisor finally contacted me again. Following the new test, he thinks it's my windows that is problematic and asks me to contact the windows customer service now.

Well, its weird that windows have problems on different computers tho... but it does inndeed sound like a windows software problem or driver related.... BUT.... why use the cable anyways? Just use the Calibre wireless transfer option because it works perfect and even syncs the meta data so if i was you i would just use that.

Just start Calibre and look for the Connect/Share button on the top bar. Then start the content server and after its connect click the Star wireless device connection so that you see the IP and port number. Then on the kobo reader you need to start the web browser and type in the ip addres like with :XXXX behind it where the xxxx is the port number... so it will look something like this 192.168.777:8080 then it will load your whole collection of book from the calibre and you can download whatever

I managed to connect by wifi as you propose it to me. It's a solution yes. But, is it normal for the zoom to change all by itself when I browse through my Calibre library? It's irritating to always all list to big (like 80% zoom) as soon as I touch the screen.

Is there a solution in the same style with Adobe Digital Editions too ? I can't transfert ebooks from the my library with Calibre.

No, the zoom doesn't seem to be normal when i use it on my kobo. I just drag the screen up or down to see the list and think double tab does the zoom.

I dont think there is a wifi option for adobe digital unless you can get those ebooks to show up in your calibre collection then it might work.

@JohnnyMix Yes..... I read ALL the posts in man threads. It does NOT mean I can recall each and every detail of each and every thread.

Consider yourself lucky that I don't just ignore all of your useful posts in future.

Did you ever find a solution to this because I have had the exact same issue. I returned my previous Auro HD unit back, got the new one today and the same problem persists. My kobo won't hook up to any computer I try. Jst the fact it detecs the computer and freezes.

Unfortunately no. After several tests with Kobo and Windows, I quit. I'm just using the WIFI technique than JohhnyMix refer here. Really frustrating, but nobody can't find why it's doing that.
