How do you know it is booting up? I thought you said the screen wasn't changing. If so, there is no real way to know if the device is booting. If the screen doesn't change, about the only way is if you connect it to a PC and can tap the right place on the screen to connect. Then you would see it as a device.

Something not mentioned is the screen light. Does it come on? It should if the factory reset works even if the screen is broken.

Would be interesting to know whether you were able to factory reset the device and because of a problem with the display (or some other problem) you cannot see the effect, or whether there is still KSM running (and you cannot see it). When you saw KSM running, was it able to connect to a wifi network at start? You can still ask your router whether your device is connected to the network. You have about half a minute after you power on your device. If the device is connected you can access the device via the KSM webinterface.
