Loading all your books onto a new Kindle

The only type of management that interests me is arranging books by series, and I do that using a Calibre metadata plugboard to automatically prefix the title with series name and number.

I tried it before going the brute force route. I did not work, it only added the collection "folder" but not the contents.

The Kindle app for iOS has a download-the-whole-collection option not that I've ever used it.

Your books show up automatically but you can download them as you read or access them. I have around 170 books on mine and it did not take that long to download

Smitty, turn your wifi off and occasional activate your unit. You'll get the indexing done that much faster. If you don't find it annoying, you can also just let it do it's thing while you are reading. Page turns are a little slower and search won't work (since it's not indexed), but that may not be an issue at this time.

You have to select each individually but it goes faster if you put your items in list view then you can quickly click down the page on each item

Yes I did it via selecting each one individually (via list view) and got them downloaded. Indexing took awhile but I managed to get through it although it ate a lot of battery which was to be expected.
