I have trouble with my Kobo. It doesn't like USB much. I also find it says it isn't working but does. Says there is a problem transferring books but they are there when I check.

Sorry, I'm not sure if any that makes sense. What says "it isn't working" or that there is a "problem transferring books"? That isn't anything the Kobo device does. You transfer them the the device unplug and the books get imported. At the most the import will fail, but it doesn't display an error when this happens.
