Bookerly.ttf Bookerly-b.ttf Bookerly-i.ttf Bookerly-z.ttf in a folder at the root called fonts. I sideload books using the KoboTouchExtended plugin for Calibre producing kepubs. Italics work fine with bookerly for me with kepubs. I can't comment on epubs, however. I haven't taken any other steps as described by others here. Last edited by k9reeder; 12-23-2017 at 03:06 PM. If yours are the same, the filenames loaded to the Kobo would need to be: Bookerly-Regular.ttf (Bookerly.ttf is also OK I think) The shorthand filenames used by k9reeder, above, are also supposed to be supported but I've never tried this naming convention for any of my own fonts.Bookerly-Bold.ttf Bookerly-Italic.ttf Bookerly-BoldItalic.ttf If it isn't a simple filenaming problem then I'd need to see your 4 files. You can't post them here but if you zip them up, store them somewhere online (e.g. Dropbox) and PM me a link I could take a closer look if you want. |

Bookerly.ttf Bookerly-b.ttf Bookerly-i.ttf Bookerly-z.ttf Then I powered the Kobo off and back on. Now Bookerly seems to be working fine (the book I'm reading doesn't have lots of italics, so I was only able to look at the italics in the TOC). In the end, I suspect powering the device off and on was what made it work. Which makes me wonder if doing that after following your advice would have fixed it as well. |

Now that Bookerly is working properly, I wouldn't be surprised if I go back to Noto Serif. But it always bothered me that Bookerly didn't work. |

Now I'm just asking, for those that used Literata and Noto Serif, which of the two they preferred. |

It is one of the best Japanese types out there. By Shigenobu Fujita. He is one the best type designers out there.
Its latin glyphs is very good too, but no there is no italics. I usually read with Malabar or Monotype's Baskerville eText. Malabar is really good. |
