Part of the reason I chose an iLiad was that FBreader had just been ported to it at the time I was making my decision. I use FBreader almost exclusively on my iLiad. I don't read books much on other platforms. I also wish the latest version of FBreader, with the menu interface, was available for the iLiad.

If you are considering new directions for FBreader, you might want to check the article I link to in my sig about literary reading and annotation. DotReader has some of the functionality I describe, but DotReader won't run on portable devices like the iLiad, and I think there's a huge opportunity to build communities around ebooks that's going untapped.

A plugin interface that would allow distribution of LIT support by a third party (so the FBreader team could avoid possible legal problems) would also be nice.

I use it on my 770. Excellent program Like mobipocket on my Blackberry, I use yellow on black. Nice contrast, and I can read in bed with no lights, so I don't keep my wife awake with a bright white background!

Many thanks.

I love FBReader on my N800 and on Windows. My only complaint is the lack of CSS support. Any idea when this will happen?

I use it regularly on my Nokia. As a very small device I can keep it my bag for work and have it whenever I gave to wait for a meeting or find I am forced to kill time somewhere. Its much better than being bored.

For longer reading I used my 505 or Cybook. I would love to load FB Reader on the Cybook because of the menu capabilities. But for now that is still just a wish...

I would love to use it, I've heard great things about it. However, I am doing all my ebook reading on a Dell Axim and last I checked there was no version for Win Mobile. When one will be available, I'll install it for sure.

I tried to use it for a while on my Iliad, in conjunction with Hadrien's Feedbooks, to get some daily newspapers via the WiFi connection. But the UI (on the Iliad at least) was too clunky and prone to freezing up. Like every other attempt I've made to read newspapers on the Iliad, this one failed.

Just started using it this week after over a year of blissful ignorance. What on earth was I thinking??!?

Of course, being a mainframer as well as UNIX weenie, I had to change the colors to make my green-screen-happy eyes a little more comfortable.

This looks really nice - and it appears to be java based. Any chance of this becoming available for the Blackberry Storm? I am not particularly happy with any of the readers for that platform.

Also - any chance of this supporting autoscroll? One of the best reader features IMHO - and I can't find it on the Storm.

Gonna download this for windows and play with it. Looks great, though!

I use FBReader on my Asus Eee 4g (Xandros Linux). Easy-to-use and functional software - thanks for the good job!

FBReaderJ is a java port of FBReader (which is C++), but FBReaderJ is currently only for Android.

Autoscrolling is often requested, and is actually listed as "planned for future versions" in About FBReader. I don't know if any work has been done on implementing this yet though.

Nope, I now use Alreader windows desktop version for my pc and Allreader windows mobile version for my mobile device. I am very happy with this setup, does everything I need.

Used to use Mobipocket but I've gotten fed-up with the windows mobile version being outdated and buggy. So I've gotten rid of both desktop and wm versions of it.

Nope, I did look into it, but couldn't find a WM version (as some others also mentioned).

So, I'll just keep on using Mobipocket.
