Well that demanded a test.

I bought a $1.99 book. But for some reason I haven't gotten the usual "Amazon.com order of..." email, so I don't know if I got the credit or not. I guess I'll call 'em this afternoon. If nothing else, I want to find out why I didn't see the usual email.

I see a notice that I have a $2 credit on every Kindle book page, in the "buy" box. I also got an e-mail telling me of the credit. They do say in the terms that it might take a while to show up, though, as I said initially, for me the credit appeared within minutes.

For some reason, I never got the email confirming my order (though the book did appear). I called to ask about that and while I was talking the person did tell me I didn't qualify for the credit (I didn't ask why I didn't qualify, since I made the call from work).

My email provider lost one order email, but I looked under my orders, emails from Amazon and there it was.

My email finally showed up, a day later. That's unusual for me as the email is usually instant. But what matters most was no credit for me. They didn't take into account how awesome, deserving and humble I am

But how could Amazon do that? Ordinary awesomeness, yes but yours?

In UK I only get an instant email for freebies, paid and special discount books are delayed four hours in the hope that another purchase will be made to be combined for payment.

Too true.

For ebooks, I use Buy now with 1-Click, so even on the rare occasions I go a little mad and buy multiple books at once, I get individual emails.

1-click is the only way available to buy ebooks. I'm forced to make a purchase without seeing exactly how I am paying and without entering my password. But when I click on the link to see the purchase details I must enter a password.

I don't see a banner or credit, and I bought a book yesterday. I own a Fire and an old Kindle.

I hate 1-click ordering. I'm pretty sure Amazon does this to increase sales from accidental orders. Whenever I buy a free ebook, I immediately check the order details to make sure I wasn't charged.

I really wish they'd give us the option to disable 1-click for ebooks.

The fact that you need a password to verify what you have just bought without a password is just mind blowing to me. I always check afterwards to verify what I did and did not pay. I bought an agency book yesterday for $1.99 and I have $2 in slow ship credits so I wanted to see if maybe you could use them now, but you still can't.

No banner/offer for me either. In the last three months, I have bought a new Kindle Fire tablet, a PaperWhite, and a Fire TV stick. We're Prime members too. And have an Amazon credit card. And we generally place two or more Amazon orders per week.

I guess you have to be a REALLY good customer to get this phenomenal $2 offer! We must be slackards in Amazon's opinion.

Maybe you're TOO good a customer and Amazon thinks you don't need the incentive. I have Prime and an Amazon credit card, and I have a Fire tablet. I buy a lot of physical goods from Amazon, but I rarely buy e-books, except to get a deal on an Audible book.

Don't give up hope. I have been checking Amazon with my iPad every day for this offer since this thread started. Today it finally showed up. I got a $3 credit. Showed up with safari browser. Not a Prime member anymore, no Amazon credit card. I Buy very few physical items but lots of ebooks.
