And why code must be rendered using monospaxed fonts, anyway? Maybe that was the in thing 20 years ago that primitive editors were the only tools available but nowadays there isn't merit in lining up comments and declarations and so on. Proportional fonts work best in 99.9% of cases, I think.
Anyway, for reference material and even more for computer related content I don't understand the need for a portable device like e-ink readers; isn't much better to work and simultaneously have that content on the big screen of a computer?

What? Are you calling Emacs a primitive editor

For code in papers I either us a monospaced font or something smaty like LaTeX that can typeset code. I am not sure HTML is enought for handling typeset code.

I use the iliad for study new tecnology

,some times I read one chapter or two, get what I need and began programing, others I need to search in several books.

when I'm programing I use to have reference material in the computer.

I'm thinking of getting an Iliad too (for reading reference books & manga). Sorry to hijack this thread, but Max, what would you say about the suitability of the Iliad as compared to the Sony Reader for this purpose ?

That being said, I read reference journal articles and manga on my iLiad, and I think it works quite well. What format are your manga in?

hi joewandy, sorry for the delay.

For the reference book In pdf format I prefer Iliad over sony reader, because you don't need to reflow your pdf just open an zoom. For manga Iliad has more grey levels so is a little bit better.

But now for the same price you can get de new irex reader, with bigger screen.

Yes, the new iRex model is probably the best for technical references, as long as its current functionality meets your needs. iRex doesn't have a very good history of keeping marketing promises, so don't buy it if you're relying on some feature they're supposed to implement "later," like power management or additional document type support.
