I don't bother with frame-by-frame - I much prefer a more "authentic" reading experience. I read all my comics on a 12.9" iPad Pro, which renders them very close to their original size. Sometimes I have to turn it sideways to read two-page spreads, but even then, they are clear enough that I don't have to zoom.

For software, I use ComicGlass. It comes with a Windows server app that lets me browse my entire collection and stream them to my iPad one page at a time, without having to download anything.

When previewing (or occasionally reading) comics on my computer, I use MangaMeeya.

A good comic writer/artist pays attention to the flow of the panels on a page, like the Bill Sienkiewicz page below. You lose that when reading panel by panel.

(Hope this is within image size guidelines.)

I have only read the Walking Dead comics and I have used comicrack on my tablet. I like the full page and I can zoom in if needed. (old eyes, lol)
