I've got 32 different collections and I've had no problems so far. I'm managing mine from Calibre (I couldn't actually figure out how to do collections from the Sony software)

I added mine using the sony software. You just click on reader/library/card and click on the + button at the bottom to create the collection, then drag what you want into it, very much the same as iTunes.

Okay, put my MS back in with a few collections on it, then opened a large book (5000 pages) it formatted okay then I went to read it, zoomed once formatted, then it reset itself..........went back to same book, tried zoom again, formatted no problem, then zoomed again, formatted then reset again ! this is odd.......

Hi flub,

I also find the Calibre software easier to use. You can also go in and change the metadata. I make sure the author is in both formats, so Jack London would also be London Jack.

Series and book number are easy to set. Finally if there is no picture I use something like:

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk

Which have pics for most books. Right click save to pc then select that when changing metadata. Easy peasey!

Oh and for us newbies this site looks great for free downloads:

http://www.munseys.com/site/home

You can select for Sony Reader. In fact I just downloaded The Call Of The Wild by Jack London. A book I read probably 40 years ago and fancy reading again.

Regards

Chris

Hi babyd,

Sorry, went off subject there. Suggest you download Calibre written by someone on this site and see if that solves the problem. I have looked at the Sony software and find it a bit limited. Judging by more experienced comments on this forum that is the general opinion.

Regards

Chris

Did you say you are using a memory stick or card? If so, try using it without one.

Also, when you press the size button on a book that you didn't use Sony Library to copy to your device, you just have to be patient while it re indexes the book. Don't do anything until the screen redisplayes in the new size.

HI pilotbob

I did actually use only the Sony eLibrary software for all the books, they still format...I think I read the new software does this, not sure.....I did try without the MS and its the same with or without.

funny but since I've been going mad trying to get it to stick on a page again, it just won't (without collections)....it just formats the resets if it glitches, but its not the book at it will format fine next time............when it formatting I don't touch it, so it resets on its own

i have just removed all my collections in Sony eLibrary software and recreated them again and transferred back to reader.......so will see if the initial problem of sticking on a page comes back or if the format/reset stays..........

I do have Calibre, but prefer to use Sony for now as it was supposed to reduce formatting LOL

BTW my firmware is 1.2.00.18050 which some are surprised about as it's newer than the recent Sony firmware upgrade. mine was from UK Waterstones yesterday..........maybe its the newer firmware??

Hi Chris, Aha, so it looks like we do have a more recent version...........or a typo LOL

I just downloaded a Carry On films book from Waterstones and have been chuckling my way through, it was a bargain at only £2 !!
There was a quiz in it too, with answers at back of book, and this too was listed in the contents, however the answers aren't there !! They chopped the book off one section early !!
Just rang Waterstones to let them know as others will want the answers too. Apparently they can't access ebook orders on their system till mid-week next week. but he has taken the info and will pass it on ........ Not that I know any of the answers, but I did want to check them anyway LOL

Still the book was a laugh, the 'noteable lines' sections were a scream.
