you can use your card just put there ANY US address

i couldnt get it to work that way.

i tried with my card n a US address but it didnt work, said billing zip code was either invalid (when i chose my own) or not the same as card (when I chose a US zip code.

Agreed - I suspect that it could be country dependant, and the US site's able to verify most cards but maybe not with some countries & it's letting them through.

Just get someone to buy you an online gift card and pay them back by paypal. It works fine.

What you can do, if you wish to use the Sony store, is to use gift certificates. A number of MR members, eg "Leaping Gnome", will happily buy these for you in return for payment by PayPal. These certificates can be used by anyone. Send him a PM if you're interested.
