I haven't used Amazon's so I can't honestly say if it covers more than just the characters.

But I am familar with the technique -
I wrote one for an author friend about twenty years ago.
It depended on xml mark-up in the manuscript.

But it allowed the author (or the reviewer) to check if the main character was trying to cut his bonds in chapter 30 with the pocket knife he lost in chapter 3.
And other such in-consistences.
