It says 3.14 in the lower right corner. It's possible I got confused though.

You might want to check the installation. Earlier in the year I discovered I had both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions installed. I don't think the 32bit version was complete and it was very old. Under some circumstances, it would use the 32bit version and I had strange behaviour. I had to uninstall both, remove the installation directories to get rid of some leftovers, and then reinstall the 64bit version. The uninstall is safe. It doesn't touch the calibre profile or the libraries, only the executables.

In my version of Calibre, the lower right corner is where it shows the message that an update is available. The current version is shown in the lower left corner.
