Will Sunborn be sold in ebook form and, if so, thru which seller(s)?

Thanks

I've just emailed in the eReader version of Strange Attractors (as well as a very minorly updated Neptune Crossing).

Hopefully they'll be up soon!

Jeffrey has a Paypal Donate button at the bottom of his downloads page. I think it's being referred to as the "tip jar".

There's a button on my downloads page. Scroll down. (I keep wondering if I should move it up.)

Re ereaders (human) and willingness to pay, it has not escaped my notice that nearly ALL the donations I've gotten so far have been from names I've seen on this board. So there's room for study, if someone wanted to look at ebook readers in general. Maybe there are distinct types, and people who hang out here are more prone to want to pay back.

But then, maybe most of the downloads are from this board, too. No way to know, but I do know that a lot of visits to my website originate from here. (referring site logs)

Ah--there was a whole page of posts that I'd missed. Someone already answered that question.

BTW, thank you, whoever added the cover image to my post starting this thread.

Robo, I received the files and barring problems, expect to have the ereader version up later tonight!

Thought I'd said this, but maybe it was on the other thread. (Yes, I think it was.) Sunborn will be a Tor ebook, and I'm promised its timely availability. I may also offer it as a freebie in some fashion, as a promotion for the hardcover.

Jeff, thanks so much! You are right about one thing, you are preaching to the choir on this group, for sure. We will support you and writers like you and your generous posting of your books is just one of the reasons. Keep writing quality books and you will never have to look for an audience.

Incidentally, Jeff doesn't have IMP versions of the books yet. Care to take a shot?

heh, i didn't see this before. well, you may be right in your cynicism. i tend to be that rarest of beasts, a naïvely optimistic cynic (don't ask). i still think this whole phenomenon is a brilliant example of how ebook publishing could and should work, and it makes me proud every time i read this thread.

as for the imp version, to be honest i have so many projects going on right now that i hesitate to say yes because god knows when i'd get around to it. however, may i point you in the direction of nrapallo (nick)'s truly amazing tool, mobi2imp (or lit2imp, or any of a variety of flavors), which includes a GUI interface and will convert whatever file you have into .imp in a matter of seconds with literally zero effort on your part (other than checking the appropriate options and clicking "ok"). (or, if you prefer command lines, you can use the python script directly instead). look in the ebookwise forum, in the stickies.

alternately, i bet you nick would do the conversion for you himself, if you ask him nicely. he's the imp god around here.

Admittedly, I haven't yet paid for an eBook. (my eBooks are all public domain, or freebies)

I mostly use them to try a book, and if I like it, I'll go buy the print version.

And that, indeed, is the theory behind giving away ebooks to promote the tree-books. Which was what got me going on this whole enterprise, initially.

This is an excellent model. I can try free, if I like the series I can both donate for older books directly to the author and then pay for the latest so publisher gets some money as well. I'll move your books to the top of my TODO list

thanks

Jeff - you truly are leading the way for all of us and I, for one, am particularly grateful.

Have just left something in the tip jar for you.

Best Wishes
