I have no idea how good Kobo support will be for this. But, if you don't complain to them there is no way it will be fixed. You might need to raise the issue with them and then make a fuss on their Facebook or Twitter pages to get the profile.

Something else to try is find a book in the Kobo store and save the preview, or add a free book. If these don't sync to your device, then it's a bigger problem. If they do sync, then it gives more info for support.

Unfortunately, when I tried to contact them today, they were already closed. However, I did check a preview, and was able to download that correctly, as well as a free book that I bought.

It seems to be something odd in how the library is interacting with the kobo. I will talk to them tomorrow and see what help I can get on it.

Ok. After about 2 hours of talking to Kobo customer support, they had me contact my library's customer support. On the side, I also have contacted freelibrary.org to see if there is any way I could get a temporary account there to test it out (I have considered getting a membership there, but I wouldn't want to do that unless I can get this issue resolved). It is possible that this is an issue with my local library system rather than with my device. .

So, freelibrary.org works fine. It looks like my library is not configured correctly to handle the Kobo aura one.

Some libraries haven't yet updated to the new overdrive interface - its been a slow roll out!

Also some libraries have opted to go with another provider. Your library should have the info about when and/or if its coming?

Ugh, that is a bummer. Well, at least you now know the device itself doesn't have an issue. But still awful not to easily have the library access, except through old ADE.

Maybe things will change for the better in the future at your library. I mainly bought mine for the larger screen and comfort light, but have come to absolutely love the ease of the library access. So much of my reading is library books. I still remember getting my first library card of my very own in 3rd grade....

Out of curiosity, when you look at your settings in the library you are having issues with, do you see Kobo under the third party access permissions? One library I tried and failed to use showed nothing listed under that heading.

On the library website?
I actually don't even see that heading anywhere. The options I have in the settings are loan lengths, content filters and some options for the display of the website.

I was actually thinking about signing up for freelibrary anyways since my library doesn't have a particularly large selection, so I may end up going ahead and using them, at least for one year.

On the two libraries where I have looked at it, both were still on what I think is the old Overdrive look. That entry was between the length of loan and Maturity Level(s) settings. Just checked a third library on what I think is the new Overdrive look and either that entry is not there or it only shows when you set up a third party connection. I can't test that since that library does not allow me to connect from my KA1.
