For me personally, the difference between a 167dpi and a 250dpi screen is noticeable: I can see the pixels on the 167dpi screen, but not on the 250dpi screen. I guess everyone has their own "visibility threshold" for such things. I'm very short-sighted, which effectively means that my eyes have a built-in "magnifier" when looking at a screen close-up without my glasses on, so I probably notice these things more than a person with normal vision would.

I have the original Kobo Aura and I have a Voyage. I can tell a big difference in the evenness of the front light but they both seem very sharp to me. I read more with my Voyage but I read quite a bit with my Kobo. I'm reading my current book with the Kobo. The small size of the Kobo Aura is very attractive to me. If I could install the Voyage's feature set on the Kobo I doubt I'd use the Voyage anymore. But I can't so I do most of my reading on the Voyage. Barry |
