BTW, Amazon Customer Service offered me 20% discount on the item with the damaged box. Since it cost $100 that comes to a $20 refund for the hole. I took it as the item appears to be undamaged. They said that if I determine later that it was damaged, they would replace it.

Are you sure the CS rep didn't say "April Fools" as they were hanging up the phone?

LOL, I hope not! It was via email exchange. Seeing as the package didn't arrive until last evening after closing hours, I decided to contact CS via email rather than try to communicate with a person in India that I probably would have had a difficult time understanding.

My mom thought I was trying a late April Fools joke on her when I told her that our bank was held up this afternoon. I wasn't though. It really was held up. Click

Glad you weren't there, crich70!

My bank (at the time) was held up 10 years ago. The robbers were pros and the FBI had been tracking them for some time -- and they had the bank staked out. Unfortunately, there was some gunfire and an FBI agent was shot.

(The hold up wasn't responsible for me leaving the bank.)

Years ago I was in a bank robbery.

I worked in a mall and spent my very short lunch break waiting for a bank teller. (Years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I had just got to the front of the line when this guy cuts in front of me. I was pissed! I looked around at the people behind me, turned back and said loudly "hey, there IS a line here, Mister!" He looked at me and then ran for the mall. I was feeling pretty pleased with myself until the bank doors shut. That's when I found out the guy had pulled a gun and robbed the teller.

I got a good look but couldn't identify him from police photos. I also decided to keep my mouth shut in future.
