The Tab3 Plus looks to be just like my Tab2, but with a newer version of Android. |

The differences are as follows:
1) 1.3MHz quad-core processor compared to 1.5MHz on the Tab 2 A10-70. 2) Android 6 as opposed to Android 5. 3) Wi-fi supports ac (Tab 2 A10-70 only goes up to n.) Note that Lenovo is still offering a Tab 2 A10, but it's the A10-30, not the A10-70. The screen on the A10-30 is only 1280x800. Serious step down from the A10-70 and lowers the ppi to a level I don't personally care for. |

I wasn't aware that Nook had Google Play by default. That definitely makes it a more viable option. I know you can install Google Play on a Kindle, but you have to jump through some hoops and try and stay one step ahead of Amazon who is constantly trying to close those hoops.

The Nook Tablet, if I recall, doesn't have Google Play. The Nook Hd and the Nook HD+ do have Google Play.

The original Nook Color and Nook Tablet from years ago didn't have Play. The HD, HD+, Samsung Nooks and current 7" Nook Tablet (which we've been discussing here) all do.

Can anybody tell me if the nook tablet can put apps or store Netflix downloaded videos on the SD card? Something I hadn't thought of.

Now that I know which tablet you're talking about I can make a guess that it'll do both Netflix and downloaded videos. I don't really know anything about this tablet but I do know tablets in general and these are things that tablets do easily.
I'd like to suggest that if you want a tablet you pay a little more for a good one. You don't have to get an expensive one to get a good one but the very cheap ones tend to be poor. I've bought a couple of them and I've helped some of my neighbors with theirs and they can be very difficult. Quite a few people in my retirement home have given up the idea of tablets because their very cheap tablets were so poor and they assumed that was just the nature of tablets. I have the cheap Kindle Fire and that's a pretty reliable device but it's not a very good device. I also have an Asus tablet that cost a bit over $100 about a year ago that's vastly superior. If you can wait and save for a better tablet I'd suggest doing so. If you can't then the Kindle Fire is at least okay and probably so is the Nook tablet although I haven't actually seen one of those and i could easily be wrong. Barry |

I know it can use Netflix, but since it doesn't have a ton of memory I didn't know if I could save the downloaded videos to the SD card. I'm sure there won't be much anyway but I thought I'd ask. |

It doesn't have Google Play (you can install it, but to me at least it's not the same as regular Android) and in my very limited time using one, I didn't care for it at all. But as Amazon says: if they break it, return it and we'll replace it for free. No questions asked. |

Ah yes lol. Well he was only one when he did that. But the nook is so cheap I'm not too worried.
I did check and we can't get most if any of the unlimited content of the play time thing. Oh well. |

I agree with you about cheap Android over Fire OS, though. And while I did put the Google Play Store on my two Fire tablets, I ended up taking it off. Their performance nosedived and it wasn't worth it. |
