Can’t view azw3 files side-loaded onto Kindle Voyager (jailbroken) - Page 2

I just checked and it seems all the books are present on all my Kindles. All are azw3, sideloaded using plugboards. I've never checked immediately after loading them, though.

Did you try to give them some time? Until the indexing is finished, then restart your Kindle and check.

Thanks for checking. I did start transfer yesterday, and checked that indexing was done, and restarted. I even completely restored the Kindle as a desperate measure, and started with just a handful of the “problematic” books. No luck.

But somehow I finally got it working. No firm idea why, because I had done the same delete, import, convert several times. I suspect the problem was something in the metadata, because with a batch download and updat of metadata to the ePub, and THEN convert worked. I had tried converting first and THEN update metadata, but that did not work, for som weird reason

Hmm... I've never used the "Download metadata" option. I always fix the metadata manually. Usually I convert after editing metadata, but sometimes I change the metadata after converting. If I convert at all, of course.

Possibly the Kindle doesn't like something about the downloaded metadata?

There must have been something in the metadata, I noticed that the books in the Kindle file system had a misspelled first name for the authors as the folder name. There was another folder for each with the visible books and a completely correct name. Just one letter difference. AND Calibre did show the correct name, the error was only in the folder name on the Kindle.
That discovery was the reason I decided to give it another try, instead of giving up and blaming an electromagnetic storm...
