That's the whole point of this thread. The Kobo Aura One is a very nice ereader, when you know what you are getting into. |

People are more inclined to post when they have a problem. I had battery drain initially, first firmware update solved that. Been rock solid stable since then. Absolutely love it.

I've seen lots of comments elsewhere on web sites about the bad stuff that was said here when the Aura One came out. And it was true, I guess. Now, people have to know that problems are fixed and that it is working as expected. |

Checking back in this forum, you will find quite a few posts about battery issues with the H2O and before that with the Aura HD. It seems to take Kobo a couple of firmware revisions to adjust for new hardware. In the case of the KA1, the smaller battery, larger screen and more illumination LEDs didn't help the battery life.

I have been a Kobo user for long (I don't remember how much but I think that more than four years). I've got frozen devices, restart, problems with FW... but I expect it as I've lived a lot of time with my computer
![]() Am I go to complain about the faults? No. Am I happy with it? I am, perhaps other wouldn't but I like it. |

I've got mine from FNAC in october or november (I don't quite remerber exactly).
I was a bit worried by the poor accuracy of the touch on the screen, but it seems to have bessered with the latest update. I've never encountered the battery drain, but as I read on the average one or two books per week, I'm prompted to charge it quite often (about 6 to 7 hours per book), but it's nothing compared to phones or such other devices. I must be the only one who would I have liked a smaller screen with all the other spec of the Aura One (the 6" size is just perfect for me). I use a cover without an auto-sleep magnet inside it (don't feel the need, I just push the button when I want to read, it's never turned off, always put to sleep) so no problem of battery drain or such things. As for the light, I'm rather fond of bluish light but as I'm a bad sleeper, I tried the "natural light" features and it's ok for me so far. I set the light to 10% (I don't like the way it works in "auto" mode). I like being able to read in my bath without bothering about dropping it in the water and the crisp letters on the screen. It's a pity that we don't have Overdrive libraries in France (at least, I couldn't find one), I'd love being able to borrow books that way ! So far I'm a happy camper ![]() |

![]() If I keep the same apparent font size on a KA1, then there are too many words per line on the larger screen and I find it more effort to track. |

I used to read my Voyage in the bath occasionally with it in a ziplock. ![]() I also love being able to choose where I want my margins - everything is just easier to customize. |

I like my aura① very much too. I began with a GLO, then I had a Aura H20 (which is using my wife now). The 6-inch-devices had always seemed a bit too small to me. Aura H2O was the right direction but not far enough. The size of the aura① ist absolutely perfect for me. This is very close to what I´ve been dreaming about since I began to read on eReaders.
I also like the "night-light" very much, but this is only a nice addon. But the clear, sharp and big display is quite the best you can get. |

From the minute I had unboxed the Aura One I was smitten, it seems like the e-reader form factor I've been waiting for all those years since I got my first Sony 505, only took 5 upgrades to get there :-).
The only thing for me that stops it from being near perfect,is that it sometime does not change the page on a swipe and needs a couple of attempts, but that is rare enough. |

I have that problem too sometimes, but only on the right side, so to go to the next page. I solved this just by hitting the right part of the screen with my thumb. Works every time.
