Kobo Aura One - Overdrive support

Note: on mac, it's easy as Dr. Seuss:

Plug in your Kobo Aura One to the USB, and tap "connect" so that the kobo gets mounted as a HDD on your Mac. (Assuming you haven't done something silly like renaming your Kobo's filesystem the rest should work)

open Terminal.app (If you don't know how to open this app, click the magnifying glass in the top bar, and type Terminal)

In the command line of the Terminal, paste this line

mv /Volumes/KoboAuraOne/.kobo/affiliate.conf /Volumes/KoboAuraOne/.kobo/affiliate.bak ; sed 's/RakutenBooks/Kobo/' /Volumes/KoboAuraOne/.kobo/affiliate.bak > /Volumes/KoboAuraOne/.kobo/affiliate.conf ; exit

Eject your KoboAuraOne

Done! You should now see Overdrive listed when you tap .../Settings

Overdrive seems to be active only when in the US. I loaded a couple of books from overdrive from within the KA1 before my recent trip and when they expired while abroad the overdrive option was missing for me to renew them. Looks like its hidden based on geolocation. My only option was to download from the overdrive website, use ADE and move them to the device via USB.

And the Overdrive option appeared when I was back in the US. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your detail instructions but I don't have a Mac so can't do it unless I try to borrow one off somebody. Sorry to bother you but how to do this on a windows pc ?
