Some routers have the ability to clone a mac address. So if you have such a router, you can put in the mac address of the laptop. Then shut off the router and modem and outer up the router and then the modem and you should be good to go.

Thank you Jon. Huge Kudos to you. Cloning the MAC address worked! I had to wait till my internet addicted hubby went to bed to try it. Google Play loves me again!

Your very welcome. I've done the same thing when I've needed to change my IP address.
