That opens up other options. I now have it down to Kobo Aura one (using a 3d party app people call KOReader - although I have no idea yet about how I install such a thing) or the N96 |

Fortunately that's pretty easy to do. You can find instructions/details in the Developers subforum in the Kobo forum.

But with my current phone I don't even need one, I'll just connect whatever device I have to my phone directly (I did need a converter from USB-A to USB-C though ![]() |

Hi
To transfer PDFs to your Kindle quickly, you can email them to your device. If you put Convert as the subject, it will converted to an ebook, rather than a simple PDF. Admittedly, the conversion can be a little hit or miss, but worth a try. |

I have spent the day spending 1 hour looking at videos and reviews of the N96.. then convinced that is what I will spend my money on.. then i switch to watching Aura One videos and reviews and become convinced that is the better option for an hour.. and then it starts all over :/ |

Bear in mind the software of the Kobo is very limited compared to the Onyx. If you don't like what you can do with the Kobo (including Koreader), you're stuck. If you don't like what the Onyx does, you can just install another app.
There is also a program on here that you can use to pre-process pdfs and change their size for your screen. I can't remember the name of it. Anyone? Edit: here it is. http://www.willus.com/k2pdfopt/ Last edited by Pajamaman; 12-08-2016 at 02:19 PM. |

I am coming around to the idea that neither of them meets what I am looking for. The Aura One seems to have too many issues and I wouldn't trust it, whilst the N96 is a good size, it feels like something made as a prototype rather than a finished product.
I think I may just get the newest Amazon Paperwhite. While the screen is not big. From videos I have seen It seems they have hugely improved pdf support since the 2013 Kindle that I currently have. Also, at 300ppi, it is effectively almost the same amount of pixels on the screen as the Aura One possibly? I would love there to be a 7-8 inch e-ink that had the same quality as the Kindle but I don't think it exists. |
