The official case looks very nice. I like that you can fold it all the way back. I'm using an original Aura with its official case and while I like the look of it, it can not be folded back and has made the reader bulkier and more awkward. Last edited by ZodWallop; 11-21-2016 at 04:40 PM. |

If you wanted a sleeve without a zipper, here are three options I found:
This one is a fold over pocket This one uses a button and string And here is one with an elastic band I have no experience with any of them. |

A case like this will hardly add any weight and will give protection more so than a sleeve since it's meant ot be on all the time.

The original Aura used a Pearl screen. The Aura 2 has the same resolution, but uses the next generation Carta screen. I believe the Carta screen is whiter with better contrast. It'd be nice to see the two side.

Carta is lighter than Pearl in the general case but there are notable variations between manufacturers, possibly even manufacturing runs. My Aura HD's Pearl panel is almost as light as my Aura ONE's Carta panel whereas my Kindle DX's Pearl panel is almost as dark as my iLiad's first generation panel. IME, what matters more is font weight. The heavier (more bold) the font, the better the perceived contrast. |

First picture was taken in the complete dark. Frontlight was set to 1% on Aura 1 and 2% on Aura 2. You can see Aura 1 is much brighter the Aura 2. 2nd and 3rd pictures were taken with low light. |

Have you made sure the lighting was even? I'm not talking the same setting, but the same brightness? Also, a picture with no light would take the light out of the picture and show us just the screen.
I have a PRS-650 and a T1 and a nook STR and my H2O's screen has a lighter background then all the other three that have a pearl screen. Also, I've seen some other Kindles with pearl screens and again my H2O screen is lighter. |

Then take comparison photos side by side - one with lighting on, and one with lighting off in a very well and evenly lit room. Even better, photos with several different levels of lighting should be included. |

Thought id chime in - I just bought myself the official Kobo sleepcover for my A1- man, what luxury! A little expensive, sure, but that beautiful leather and felt finish, the reflective logos, the feel and weight of it... so classy! Such an improvement over my custom bubble-wrapped-postage-envelope creation - also for sale for $45 USD - enquire within! :P
Jokes aside, the official cover is so lovely, such a luxurious device! |

Well, we set it to the minimum (2% is the minimum on Aura 2) as we both think it is too bright otherwise.

I zoomed on the pictures I sent and it seems like there is a grain effect on Aura 2. It is not the case in reality. Last edited by alex3137; 11-25-2016 at 05:39 AM. |

Is the Aura 2 more comfortable to hold than the Aura? When I used to read my Aura naked, I found the corners were a little too sharp and dug into my palm. I notice the Aura 2 has much rounder corners. It's slightly larger than the Aura, but it looks like it'd be more comfortable in hand. |

I know I'm a bit late replying to this but I've been away...
I also prefer to use my Kobo without a cover and recently I bought a felt sleeve for my Aura One from these nice people: http://stores.ebay.com.au/emmersongr...k-felt-sleeves I heartily recommend them. They make the sleeves to order so you should be able to get one for your device. I took my KA1 travelling with me in this sleeve and it survived perfectly unscathed. |
