For me variations in Author names are less of a concern than are other columns, not because they are less important, quite the opposite in fact. Because I use the Author Link field to access entries in another application, I take great care to get them right as soon as I add a new book.
Publisher names are my main bête noire, I thought I had them in good order, but in two shakes of a lamb's tail the Find metadata variations... option found some that had slipped through the cracks. Two more plugins that may interest you ==>> Consolidate All Library Metadata and Quarantine and Scrub I don't use them myself (they didn't exist when first created my libraries from the mish-mash of folders and symlinks I was already using), but I believe others have found them very useful during the process of initial loading of libraries and beyond. Cheers and thanks for giving me (and maybe others) a better way to keep these pesky Publisher names under control. I wonder; could the plethora of imprints they use be the 19th century equivalent of today's Double Irish and a Dutch Sandwich tax saving/avoidance/evasion strategy ![]() BR Last edited by BetterRed; 11-13-2016 at 05:26 PM.
