It's not recommended for any of those devices. Even if they survived the day, you may well have permanently shortened their battery life. You certainly will if you do this repeatedly. Some batteries may also explode if overheated.

E-ink substrates are a much thinner glass than cellphones or tablets, so are obviously more prone to breakage from impact, twisting or temperature extremes.

I don't think you can use the OP's experience in this case to bolster that argument. In the first 15 seconds the drier probably didn't have much of a chance to heat up the air or any of the contents in it.
