Go for a third party cover. You will save money and so far it seems to be Kobo's official sleepcover that's having issues but not the the third party ones, of course that's speculation more than evidence (I've read elsewhere on these forums that it might be something to do with the magnets used in the sleepcover but I know nothing about technology myself).

So I couldn't wait any longer and went to Swindon and bought it.
So far like it's size, weight and features. But damn it I've got the green blotchy area down bottom and especially noticeable under 100% natural light and 5% brightness etc. Wonder if Swindon will make an exception or something. 344a any others reported similar? Took mine back to Swindon. Will see in couple hours what they will and or can do about it. I'm asking for replacement since flying out.

Was told they might replace it on the phone before I had taken it in but when ended up there they had reset it and that's it. Claimed it works fine and no light issues but they had tested in lit room and full brightness ie white light not the natural light max. So after discussing they said take it and test it and see if issue persists and not to worry since it's Kobo covered anywhere regardless. They didn't seem keen on testing themselves after being made aware of the settings and testing in lit show room didn't have the same effect.
Was strange that in dark room low brightness and high natural light showed the orange screen but in store needed full brightness. Not sure if reset had this effect or the ambient setting but turning the auto off still didn't do it. |

And issue persists in dark room environment otherwise my device appears fine.
