There is some strange pricing about, I think some of it is just publishers experimenting, but price is metadata and since there are lots of mistakes in other ebook metadata I suspect a lot of strange prices are metadata mistakes too.
I've emailed the publisher sometimes when a book I want to buy seems unusually expensive (like a book in the middle of a series priced at $16.99 when the rest of the series is $10.99), sometimes it works and they fix the pricing mistake, not always but often enough to make it worthwhile trying if it is a big price difference. |

But be careful in case the expensive price is correct and the cheaper price is wrong.

I personally think that the publisher added the new kindle editions when the hardcover books were reprinted rather then update the old kindle editions and then failed to remove the older ebooks on amazon.ca. |

I once found that a book costed US$99.9 and books of the same series costed $9.99. I think sometimes when the person is entering the price. They may make a mistake and forget to double-check before submitting.
