@chromeuser, perhaps you could check the Kobo Developer forum, I think in the last days a patch has been developed for decreasing the header size.

Just be aware that with the Kobo Touch Extended plugin installed, Calibre will automatically convert your epubs to kepubs during the transfer. That is, you can leave the books as epubs in your Calibre library and they will be kepubs on your reader. There's no need for both formats in your library.

Did you see my link to a quick mod that will let you remove the header and footer completely?

Get the "KoboUtilities" plugin too. If nothing else it's an easy way to clean up old left behind covers and such.

Also. if you're anal about things like me, you can get the plugin "Resize Cover", so all of your covers will be the same size (I like 333x500).

With my old paperwhite I remember reading that the azw3 format was better than mobi, so that was what I had. Then you can get the "Hyphenate This!" plugin. It works great with azw files, not so much for epub. I'm not sure how it would work with mobi.
