David, that's the way I've always been more comfortable with; thus, the reason for asking.

Since I'm on the fence about even installing the new firmware, it makes sense to just wait until wifi will work with kobo.com.

As I have no problems with the current firmware version, that's my take on it as well.

This firmware improved things a little bit. The device feels snappier now with touch screen, page turns and walking among the menus. Selecting text and highlighting is easier too. I call it a good improvement. Thanks.
