Actually, the magazine PDF will be letter size.

Can you actually tell us something useful about the V3 other then you bought it and you like it? You sound like an advertising machine on automatic.

rado3105 if you have an SD card or memory stick, put some of your PDF on it and go down to your local SonyStyle shop and ask to see how it will display on a 505 with the latest firmware. That is of course providing you like in the USA or Canada and have a SonyStyle shop within any sort of close distance. Also, you could go to Borders. But the same restrictions apply except for being in Canada.

That depends where you live, Jon. The majority of magazines in Europe are A4-sized.

I did own the iliad for a while and I thought is was great for reading A4 pdf. The start up time was annoying when you needed it on in a hurry like in a lecture or something but otherwise it did not bother me. I would turn it on and then do other stuff while it booted. Pointless sitting and glaring at it for 45 s. A watched iliad never boots and all that.

I tried the note taking but didn't get on with it, or it didn't get on with me. My writing is appalling and I don't blame the iliad for not being able to decipher it.

I don't have a Sony and so cannot say anything as to its ability with pdfs.
