If the books have been found and processed into the internal database, there should be a tile on the home screen. This will show up to three covers and the total number of books added to the device. Tapping that will take you to the library list. Otherwise, they should show when you tap "Read" and then "Books". If they don't show, then check the filter used. At the top of the list, will be "Show". If you have "Purchased", "Previews" or "OverDrive", then sideloaded books will not be shown. Change the filter to one of the other options, then sideloaded books will be shown. |

You could try deleting the files manually from the file manager in your OS and try again from within Calibre. The safer way though is logging out of your device completely, setting it up again and starting with a fresh database as there could be residual info from writing to the database with Calibre that could cause problems in the future... With Kobos, it is *really* important that you *always* wait for the device to disconnect itself after ejecting safely, that is the only way the software will start looking for new books and handle them properly. Also, never delete books that *have* been recognized other than from the device software itself! Even though you could do it with Calibre (but never from the file system!), it is safer as that will definitely be registered in the database. |

Unless the database is already corrupt, logging out of the devices and back in is not going to help with this problem. When sending a new book to the device, calibre doesn't actually update the database on the device. After the send, if you have the collection management options enabled, the books are put into collections. If for some reason the book is not processed, these will still be there, but they are completely safe. It is perfectly safe to delete books from the device using calibre. The KoboTouch driver does exactly what the device does. I have spent a LOT of time making sure of this. And if anyone does have a problem, please tell me. I'll try and work out what is going wrong and fix it. It is even safer to simply delete sideloaded books from the device. The firmware knows how to handle this. It will remove the missing books from the database in exactly the same way as if you delete the books through the interface. Some very old firmware didn't do this. But, when you tried to open the book, a message about the book missing was displayed, and the details were removed safely. @johnnyb: Please don't spread misinformation about something you obviously don't know anything about. |

Ok I will stop sharing from my experience because I am apparently holding it wrong...
Edit: Still doesn't mean that the Aura One is not objectively s*** atm... Last edited by johnnyb; 09-22-2016 at 02:20 PM. |

If you are experiencing these problems with recent firmware and versions of calibre, then please report them properly. Then maybe we can work out why they are happening to you and no-one else. Or maybe others will jump in and say they are seeing those problems as well. Quote:

Thank you all for the advices!
I love this device but i really don t know what to do? To send the device back or to wait for firmware update? - Keyboard is sometimes off by one key, laggy and unresponsive, almost imposible to read a PDF or a cbr/cbz... |

I assume you managed to find the books. For my curiosity, what was the problem?

I myself have made it a rule to return stuff that is not working as expected (used to be the norm for most people, not anymore I think). As the Aura One (for you) apparently isn’t, you might want to do that. I had a hard time myself sticking to that rule because the display (size and clarity) in daylight is just so gorgeous. But in the end, I still was too annoyed with everything else to justify keeping the device hoping that Kobo would come around to fixing everything (and some things are unfixable by software alone, e.g. the uneven red light), especially knowing that Kobo is notorious for introducing new bugs and problems with new iterations of their firmware (that’s at least the experience I made with my H2O). In the end, it is also a matter of value: I might have kept the device around if it was perhaps a hundred quid, but sinking more than that into something on the vague hope that after a year or two, it might perform the way it was supposed to is not something that I want to do anymore. Side note: I am actually (secretly ![]() |

After I transferred into the eReader the resulted CBR, the KA1 entered into the loop restart - freeze - restart and so on...The only solution was a factory restore. |

What resolution do those images have? If they are gigantic that may be part of the issue.
Other than that maybe sickel acting up again after all... if it somehow takes longer to process than sickel allows for it will reboot. |

Also, what did you use to do the conversion? I only had a very small CBR, so I had to create another. I did have some PDF comics that were part of some bundle. I couldn't see anything that did a PDF to CBR conversion, so I had to go via epub using calibre followed by an unpack and repack using WinRAR. CBZ would have been a bit quicker. |
