Another thing I noticed when I went to Best Buy and Chapters is that they don't have the Kobo Glo HD on the model display anymore. Only h20, aura e2, touch and ka1 at Chapters. Aura e2, touch and h20 at Best Buy. I'm truly beginning to wonder if they are phasing it out.

$120 for the Aura 2 at 212 dpi makes more sense if the Glo HD is discontinued. Leaving Aura One as the only 300 dpi option.

True. Though it seems odd that they would take a step back with the 21e dpi. It's like the only thing stopping me from picking it up and giving it a try. Maybe if a sale came along...

At this time, I want a 300DPI 6" device. I've tried the Aura (original), Aura HD, and Aura H2O; I stuck with my Glo HD.


My main thing is I like being able a to chose font size and font I find comfortable. I even find the number of font sizes for Kobos limiting, so I use the patch. If my Glo HD dies and there is no 300DPI Kobo 6" ereaders, I'll go back to my Glo, than Aura. I would than look at the Amazon Voyage and hope I can get a font size I like using Calibre, or maybe something from Onyx.

I'm hoping that the Glo HD is truley "Out of Stock" (and will be back in stock) and this is just Kobo being Kobo.

I was in the market for a 6" device for my purse reader. I had been waiting on a new product from Kobo, but with the release of the new Aura, I pulled the trigger on the Glo HD and glad I am I did. While this is Kobo, it still makes no sense to have both the Aura and the Glo HD in the product lineup, and nomenclature leads one to assume that the Glo is defunct. My guess is that recent Glo HD sale prices were to clear out inventory - but I know that predicting Kobo's actions is a mug's game.

I truly hope they come out with a new 6" ereader with 300 dpi ( and maybe even the new comfort light pro because i love how easier it is on my eyes at night when i use it on my phone ). If not, I may just get a PW3 or Voyage that already has those specs seeing as how Glo HD are nowhere to be seen.

Better luck than me because I can now add Chapters to the list of places where Kobo Glo HD are now sold out (adding it to Kobo and Best Buy, though this is all for Canada so I can't speak for other countries.)

Not impressed, but at least the Glo HD is still available where I am. I too consider the Aura 2 a big step back (no HD, and SD slot is gone).

Having gone back to a 6" reader from an H2O, in part because I find the larger size less pleasant to hold for any long periods of reading, Kobo's apparent stepping away from a quality 6" reader is both surprising and disappointing.

I'm wondering if it means they're planning for a new 6 inch model, maybe to be released in spring? It's the only way this move would make sense, IMO.
