That seems to be the most likely explanation. A lot of apps are being dropped into the app store in preparation for the release of iOS 10 next week.

Well I just got a Kindle 5.2.1 update on my iPhone. So Kindle is still alive and well in iOS land, like we already knew.

Strange how the Kindle app still isn't found in the App store, but I suspect, as I said earlier, it's absence is likely connected with the release of the iOS 10 and new devices.

As far the new iPhone, I'm good to go with what I have. I have the 6 Plus and a 5 for backup. I see no reason to upgrade when either does what I need and want. As long as one or both keep working, I see no reason to upgrade for at least 2 or 3 more years. If I want to take serious photos I will use my actual cameras and equipment, not a crappy smartphone camera. I'm 58 years old and I have never destroyed any electronics by getting it wet. And my phones are always locked up inside an Otterbox Defender case, so I couldn't care less what color it is. I always get a kick out of Apple and Samsucks and their ads for the latest greatest device. Most device upgrades are small, incremental, unimaginative ones. If the next one will do my dishes, then I might consider it.

These days most improvements are incremental rather than revolutionary. I keep my iPhone 6 plus in a mophie case, so I don't really care about the color either, but a lot of people do care about color and being as light as possible. It actually looks like a pretty good incremental upgrade. Twice as much memory and quite a bit faster.

Part of what they are appealing to is the younger crowd who use their phones to play games and take selfies, not to us older types. I generally get upgrades every couple of years, so unless something changes, I'll probably get next year's model. I jumped all over last year's model because I found 64G a bit cramped, but so far, I'm not close to bumping into the limits of 128G.

Kindle app is back in the App store

And today the Kindle app is back in the App store for both the iPad and iPhone. So just a glitch apparently.

I was mostly being humorous in my post. I understand how some will go gaga over even the tiniest improvements. Remember how some swooned over the white colored iPad when it was first introduced? Now that was funny. Apple did make improvements, but for myself those are not a necessity nor a justification to buy the 7 Plus. I do have a 66 year old friend who has camped out in line at an Apple store every year since the iPhone 1 was released to buy the latest model. I will wait until at least the 8 Plus. They are just too expensive to buy each year or even every other year, at least on my budget. I do need to start thinking about upgrading my old iPad Mini 2 with only 16 GB as it is getting older than I am in iPad years.

Are you through trolling yet? I get that you like Android better, though I cannot understand why. Differences are what make the world go round, but seriously, I will never understand why some people get so emotional over certain brands. I like my iThingies but I'm not a fanboy. Nor do I understand the mentality of fanboys nor the need to constantly take jabs at people who buy the competitors devices. But then I'm old and some five decades beyond that elementary schoolboy type of nonsense behavior.

I watched the Event... And the whole thing left me pretty cold. Not interested in the iPhone 7 at all, I'll wait to see if they manage to produce something "magical" for the 10th anniversary of the iPhone's release. As for the Watch... Bah!
