For me the the issue is solved for at least 1 week now. But i'm using a "windows insider" build, so i'd say that next patch Tuesday will be fixed at large

fix confirmed in windows 10 official update 09/13: Addressed issue causing devices to crash after disconnecting an e-reader that was attached to the device.

The cumulative update patch just doesn't want to download for me this morning. Normally the monthly updates download in a few minutes, but today the other updates have downloaded, but the cumulative patch has been sitting there for about 3h. Guess the update servers are busy.

This is somewhat irritating. Cumulative update patch download is stuck at 45%. I stopped the Windows update service, deleted the download cache in Windows\SoftwareDownloads, rebooted my PC, and once again it's downloaded to 45% and is just sitting there.

Any suggestions?

You could try the Microsoft Catalog Update and see how that goes.
