David, Using Calibre hasn't been the issue.
The discussions have been how one might switch a Windows 7 system from automatically launching Sony PC Reader for DRM/Adobe ebooks to launching ADE. . . . . . Pete |

But, if the issue is changing the association for ascm files, you don't need any tools. Find one on your drive, right click on it and choose "Open with" then choose the option to use a different application. In Win10, this is "Choose another app" but I'm pretty sure it is something else in Win7. On the dialog, find ADE and select it. You might have to browse for it. Make sure the "always use" option is selected and press OK. There is a method to do it from a list of extensions in the Control Panel. I can never remember the exact name but it's something like "Set default programs". |

David, thanks for the good follow up!
I'll have to give thought as to where I'll find ascm file for the treatment you suggest. |

It doesn't have to a valid file! Just make a dummy file called test.acsm; contents are irrelevant.

I thought about that after I posted. Do a download and save it rather than running whatever application you normally use. But, if you haven't cleaned the temp directories recently, there might be one there.
