Yeah, I'm poor at describing what I mean. Instead of cloud, I meant the "all" tab on the paperwhite. Normally when you remove from the downloaded tab, your book is off the device but still shows in the "all" tab. Now her books only have the delete option, which I guess skips this "all" view on the device and removes them straight to the "cloud", i.e. The manage your account page.
Hope I explained better. |

Just saw the kindle updated to version 5.8.2 and mentions "performance improvements ".
Everything is ok now, even the 'deleted' book shows in her library and all purchased books clearly have the 'remove from device' option. Maybe something happened during her update. But all appears good now. Thanks everyone. |

Oh -- I'm at 5.8.2 already. But maybe it has happened *since* that delete I last saw, which was a few days ago. I leave the WiFi on, so it could have been any evening, I guess. |

Well, I spoke too soon. The problem has occurred again -- a library book is not in my "all" setting. I don't want to have restart my Voyage every time I check out a library book. I don't suppose anyone has come up with any ideas?

Not sure. I just updated to 5.8.2 from 5.8.1.2.1, or whatever the long number was I had before. I didn't write it down. I hope I wont have this issue again, but I wont know for a while I guess. I don't have any new library loans at the moment, or new books to show in all view.

I think I'm a step closer to diagnosing my issue. What seems to be happening is that the Voyage is no longer automatically syncing to the library.
On the one hand, it's much easier to press the sync button than to restart the kindle. On the other hand, still don't know why. |
